Counseling Fees & Payments
Fees are determined by the counselor's license status and the type of service offered.
By offering virtual services, we are able to keep our rates reasonable and below the Texas average for counseling. These rates apply to individual sessions and family sessions. Groups, seminars, workshops, intensives, and teachings are priced individually. A separate fee will be charged for tests, reports, or expert testimony. Our clients pay for service directly before or immediately after service is rendered.
Stronghold Recovery Counseling does not file for reimbursement for health insurance companies and is considered “Out of Network.” However, your health insurance may still reimburse you for Out of Network counseling. At your request, your counselor can provide an invoice for services rendered and provide a superbill. It is the responsibility of the client to check for insurance coverage for outpatient psychotherapy. Often out of network benefits make therapy affordable and cover up to 80% of therapy costs.
Cancellations
As the demand for appointments often exceeds availability, please notify your counselor as soon as you discover you will not be able to keep an appointment. No fee will be charged if you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments will be charged the set fee for any appointment canceled with less than 24-hour notice, as the time and space have been reserved for you. Exceptions will be given for emergencies. You will not be charged for appointments during your therapist’s absence. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time as your counselor will likely have a following appointment after yours.
Payments
Clients are able to keep their credit card information on file in our secure system. Accounts will be billed directly before or immediately after service is rendered.
Fees for written treatment summaries, copies of records, court appearances, consultations, or special services will be outlined upon request. Please allow 10 business days for processing when records are requested. Phone calls to your counselor lasting over ten minutes will also be charged, based on time spent according to the session fee (the time charged will be based on when the conversation began).
Without prior permission from your counselor, accounts with two or more sessions past due will result in the cessation of counseling until the outstanding balance has been resolved.
The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 45 minutes. It is up to you, however, to determine the length of time of your session. Requests to change the 45-minute session needs to be discussed with your therapist in order for time to be scheduled in advanced.
