Virtual Counseling
Meet with your counselor anywhere, at any time, in the comfort of your home or office.
Virtual counseling allows you to meet with your therapist online from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Because online therapy is our primary method of care, we’re able to keep our rates below the Texas average while still offering high-quality, personalized support. As long as you’re a Texas resident with reliable internet connection, you can access counseling services from anywhere – whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go.
Getting Set Up for Online Counseling
Our secure, HIPAA compliant video platform does not require any downloads – you can join your session from your phone or any computer with a webcam. We recommend using headphones when possible to improve sound quality and reduce feedback. Make sure you’re in a private, quiet space with a strong internet connection to protect your confidentiality and ensure a smooth session.
If you’re joining from your car, please make sure the vehicle is parked. For your safety, sessions cannot be held while driving.
A link to your session will be sent to you before it begins. If your internet connection is unstable, you also have the option to download the platform’s mobile app, which can help improve video quality. To do so, search for “Psychology Today Client Video – Online Therapy” in your app store.

Is Online Counseling just as good as In-Person counseling?
It’s true that something can feel lost when you’re not meeting face-to-face with your counselor. Much of our communication is non-verbal – through body language, facial expressions, and presence – which can be harder to fully pick up in remote settings.
However, studies have shown that online counseling can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Video sessions still allow for meaningful connection, emotional support, and real therapeutic progress. In fact, many clients find that virtual counseling offers greater comfort, flexibility, and convenience, making it easier to stay consistent and engaged in the process.
At Stronghold Recovery Counseling, we work hard to build a strong therapeutic relationship so you feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow.
